Elderton make some of the new world's most eminent accords of Cabernet and Shiraz, this time they have taken aim with a collation of the most splendid harvests to assemble a forward drinking, easy to appreciate red wine for everyday enjoyment. E Series is designed as a contemporary and uncomplicated approach to the great Aussie Shiraz Cabernet style. The E stands for five key elements that are central to the winemaking and viticultural practices at Elderton. Enjoyment and elegance, ergonomic and economic, with the accent on environment.

Once upon a time, around the end of the nineteenth century, the Semmlers grazed cattle on what are now Dutschke vineyards. They always grew grapes and made their own wine but it wasn't until the 1930s that Oscar Semmler started taking viticulture just a little more seriously. True to the tastes of the time, most of the yield was made into rich ports and fortified styles. Dutschke wines have retained their luscious fruit character, crafted in the timeless old world way, Barossa village Cabernet Shiraz of impeccable balance, elegance and grace.

Devil's Lair are auspiciously positioned at the heart of Leeuwin Peninsula, within the dress circle of Margaret River's most eminent wineries and prestigious vineyards. The climes here are very like the balmy maritime conditions of Bordeaux, red varietal grapes are intensely flavoured and lined by the finest tannins. There is a folklore of hidden caves and devilish marsupials which sets the background to Devil's Lair cryptic range of wines. A mostly Cabernet accord with a third of Shiraz, Hidden Cave is seamless and redolent, in opulent Margaret River claret styling.

A collation of choice parcels Shiraz from the Krondorf Village districts in Barossa. All grapes are dry grown and great emphasis is placed on the quality of fruit. Yields are extremely low, often only one or two tonne per acre. Parcels are vinified and assembled to contruct the most complete wine, in terms of balance between pure fruit flavours and earthy/ gamey qualities. A style which has a kiss of sweet oak, allowing the rich fragrance and flavours of old dry grown vines to remain at the fore, a Shiraz of intense flavours and richness by a Barossa master.

An outstanding assemblage of the most exceptional fruit from the elite Ehrat Vineyard, picked off unirrigated rows of parallel grown Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon along Krondorf Road. The inclusion of choice picks Shiraz from a panoply of terroirs in the Valley Eden, Stockwell and Light Pass, add palate weight and complexity. A traditional ferment and old world standards of élevage, just a few hundred dozen are made, are followed by eighteen months in a luxuriously high proportion of new Leroi French oak hogsheads, purposefully bottled unfiltered and unfined.

A big favourite of Shiraz Cabernet enthusiasts in markets Australia and overseas, from fruit grown to eight individual plantings on the historic Metala Vineyard, by fifth generation Langhorne Creek vignerons Tom and Guy Adams. A component of Metala Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon has been added to the backbone of Metala Shiraz, achieving an august Aussie Claret style that has won massive international acclaim and can scarce keep up with demand. Alluringly fragrant with regional licorice mint aromas, brimming with layers of soft, dark fleshy fruit.

A delicious accord of equal proportions Cabernet and Shiraz, highly evocative of the delectable French Cabernet d'Anjou styles to be found along the Vallee Loire. Bremerton enjoy a long established reputation for yielding the finest harvests of Langhorne Creek Cabernet and Shiraz. Their fruit has formed the backbone of Australia's finest vintages for decades, the pick of Bremerton's crop is now reserved for the estate's own label. Exquisitely balanced, Racy's handsome pink hue precedes a satiating Rosé in true, adults only styling.

As far back as the earliest days of Clare Valley viticulture, the locals would help each other during the busy times of season. While she was delivering lunches to workers who were pruning vines one winter, Annie Wayman's horse drawn cart struck difficulty in negotiating the muddy track back to her cottage. From that day on, the track has been affectionately known as Annie's Lane. Quelltaler Watervale is harvested from vineyards bordering the famous Annie's Lane, crafted to a fine balance between the richness of Shiraz and structure of Cabernet Sauvignon.
